stinks we have to burn a year off his entry level contract, but I'm happy he's coming over. whenever any of my friends ask me about this years draft, this is the kid I can't stop talking about.

Bill, do you think it was a wise move on his part to come over so soon?

I'm not sure, to be honest, if coming over at age 20 was the best decision for him. He does play a North American style of game despite his size.

Besides, I love that there's a player nicknamed "Pitbull" Pettersson in the organization... for the nickname alone, I'm glad he's here

Good for Pitbull to chase his dreams of playing in the NHL. With his tenacity, hopefully he can be example to the other young d-men playing in the Phantoms, in particular Hagg. Training camp is just too far away.

I guess every kid is different from a maturity standpoint. Im really happy the flyers are scouting Europe hard and have unearthed interesting prospects like this. I would think having kjell working with the kids prob helps jespers decision.

Can't wait for phantom hockey!

This has to be the quickest signing of a seventh rounder in franchise history, no?

This is an odd draft pick /signing, why not just wait to sign him as an FA and save the draft for a low risk 17 year old?

Maybe the Flyers new someone might be trying to take him. If he was on their board I am ok with it. They have finally started to bring in their own d prospects. What I like is everything I read about this kid is everyone seems to like him and his game. I have a feeling we might see him in the NHL at some point.

It's not really odd. The chances of a 7th round pick making it to the NHL aren't very good. If you can select an older more advanced player, the odds might go up.

I feel like the "low risk" 7th rounder is pretty much a safe bet that they will never see the light of day in the nhl anyway. I love the approach of a risky player with a higher ceiling at the low rounds like this. There's a much better chance they strike gold, and if it doesn't work out it was their last pick in the draft anyway so they don't get burned.

Well, Morin won't be there for at least another year, but yes, they'll have a nice, young group of defensemen this season.

If they really wanted him, it's best to not risk anything and make sure you get him. It's a good move to ensure you get him.

I'm hoping Petterson makes the NHL and beats the piss out of Boone Jenner for the hit Jenner put on him in 2012.
